Blog Posts Return!

Hey Gang,
Alas, after weeks of battling Blogger because our posts were disappearing after about one hour - we are back in business!
We'll lots happening around the kitchen.
We gave away over 3,000 pounds of food in the last two weeks or so - much of it to the Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society. We are very proud of this, in particular, because they are doing such good work with their food bank program and need all the help they can get.
We also received a generous grant from The Ryan Newman Foundation - and for that we are both repairing the delivery truck and starting up the Pawtraits Project (I'll explain more about that in a future post).
We super-excited about this phase in our little organization. We're hoping it propels us forward and helps us to grow. As many of you know, getting donations (of both food and monetary donations) is a very tough task nowadays. Believe me, Daddy and I see this just about everyday. Times are very tough for so many wonderful folks.
We are putting out heads together and trying to come up with new, exciting and creative ways to raise more funds and turn our pet soup kitchen into the best, biggest and brightest in the entire land! That way, we can fill as many bellies and wag as many tails as possible.
Now that the blog/website is back in business - I'll be posting regularly - promise.

Nearly 1 Ton...That's right...

Hey Gang,
I'm not trying to brag here or anything, but something is about to go down in our Pet Soup Kitchen that's got my tail waggin' - Big Time.
We are proudly about to donate nearly 2,000 pounds of dog and cat food to Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society for use in their shelter as well as help them with their own Pet Food Bank. We are so thrilled about this because we know this food is going to get gobbled up by kitties and pooches that really need it.
Also, We've got some big news coming around the end of next week! Can't say just what it is yet, but it's big and it's going to help wag lots of tails and fill lots of bellies...

Times They are a Changin'

Hey Gang,
Just a quick post to let everyone know that we're revamping things some around the soup kitchen. We're desperately looking for our own doghouse so we can stop delivering to homes directly. It's getting very costly and time consuming, and, well, the old delivery truck just can't cut it anymore. Right now, there's no money in the dog cookie jar to replace or repair it.
Also, the food supply is running low - we received plenty of food recently, but it was all either expired or expiring. We won't give away old and expired food. There's a reason that date is on the package. We respect that about it.
So, we're trying to come up with new ways to solve an old problem - empty bellies.
We're teaming up with BOGO Bowl - still in the works, but we're very excited to be partnering with these wonderful folks. I'll update this when I find out more - promise.

We're Back...Up & Running...Sort of

Hey Gang,
After getting a nice email from Apple telling us our web site was shut down because their MobileMe project was through, we decided to start working on a new site. Here is the beginnings of that site.
We decided to make it more of a blog because we want to interact with people (and pooches) as much as possible.
This will allow is to post pics, answer questions, give updates...the whole nine yards!
We're very excited about this new look, but understand that it's a work in progress.
Daddy and I will be posting just about everyday and trying to keep everyone up to date on the happening of Gabe's Gang Pet Soup Kitchen.
